If I use styling products, how can I wash my hair until it's my shampoo day? Shampoo 2-3/week?

Normally, shampooing your hair is like 2-3 times a week. Let's say on my non- washing day I use styling products on my hair, do I have to wait until the day I have to shampoo my hair(but I will have all those chemicals/residue if I wait) or I should wash my hair with every styling products I use?If I use styling products, how can I wash my hair until it's my shampoo day? Shampoo 2-3/week?
