Is it true that drugstore shampoo leaves a build up in your hair as aposed to salon products?

all shampoos leave a small amount of build-up on your hair naturally. just as all conditioners give your hair a small amount of conditioning. its just like when you wash your body with a body bar of soap and rinse it, after you get out of the shower you can still smell the soap on your skin correct? thats because there is a small amount of soap still left in the pores of your skin. your hair also has little pore like things on each strand that soak up water, shampoo, and conditioners etc.

because of this fact, we all walk around with build-up of some kind all over our hair and body. there are several special shampoos that can take off build-up from other shampoos and there are also ones that prevent build-up. most of these shampoos are expensive yes, and found in a salon yes. but that does not mean there are not drugstore brands of shampoo out there that also do the same exact thing. it is a personal choice whether you pay more or less for your hair care products or where you chose to get them. i would try shopping at sally's beauty supply, they have good hair products at discount prices. i would suggest buying any kind of tea tree shampoo from sally's beauty supply or where ever you chose. that should clean off your hair, use it once a week to keep your hair build-up free.

good luck.

As an nutritionists some shampoo can leave an resadue like dandruff also spilt ends you must get an advice with a doctor

before any hair products can be usedIs it true that drugstore shampoo leaves a build up in your hair as aposed to salon products?
No. They just want you to buy the expensive stuff at the salon.
I realy doubt it if you rinse well

(tho 'salon-products' might actually do better, it's

their 'vested interest' in bad-mouthing standard products

that gives me a bit of scepticism)

your money tho
Please use the spell checker. aposed?
I have often found the reverse is true. The cheap drugstore shampoo is just that cheap, all they care about is cleaning your hair... While the big expensive salon shampoos contain all sorts of oils, moisturizers and conditions.

With my hair at least I find that the salon stuff leaves behind a build up.
It depends on the shampoo-esp never use the kind where both shampoo and conditioner in the same product/bottle for conditioners that contain oil cause more build-up than the shampoo. Some good shampoo brands that you can buy in drugstores are Sebastian,Aussie,Nexus -do not cause buildup. Shampoos that contain color, heavy oils-like olive oil can cause buildup which causes hair to look flat. Use shampoos that say can be used everyday-Neutragena also good brand. There are shampoos that are made to take buildup out of hair-Clarifying shampoos-will state this on the bottle and its a good idea to use once a week for dust, environmental things also cause build-up as do styling products. Some salon products are better for your hair like Sebastian-but can also be found at some drugstores CVS is one of them-cost a bit more but so worth it for soft, healthy hair.
Actually, even salon products do it. The best way to keep your hair bright and healthy is to change shampoos. Pick two that you like and alternate between them. Hot oil treatments help too, but make sure not to do them too often.
No, a name brand drug store shampoo will do the job nicely. The stuff from the salon is greatly overpriced. You don't get build up from shampoo or conditioner, unless you don't rinse long enough.

After the conditioner is in the hair, rinse it thoroughly and if you think you've rinsed enough, rinse again. The conditioning agent will stay in your hair while all the other stuff gets rinsed. Gel, Mousse and Hairspray will get you build up and if you need to get rid of that, use Neutragena Shampoo and Conditioner once a week, preferably at night because your hair will have fly-aways and in the morning wash with your regular shampoo. The shampoo they sell in the salon is not the stuff they use on your

hair while they're washing it. It's too expensive, therefore you don't need it. Use a good Drug store Shampoo like Fructis or L'Oreal. The only thing that I buy from the Salon is the mousse and the hairspray.
